The Thompson Residence will highlight the earthy charming couple and reflect the environment and location of Galveston Island, TX where it is located. Neutral tones of beige, brown, orange, green and blues found throughout the home remind you of the ocean, sand, and greenery outside. Refurbished pieces and finishes will be featured demonstrating the ecological couple. James and Melissa’s love of the land and plant life will also be communicated by the greenhouse structure at the back of the residence for Melissa’s flower business.
How do you set yourself apart from other designers in the field?
My love of travel and experience with different cultures has inspired me to create interior spaces that specifically express the beauty of each culture and person I design for. I think too often, designers get stuck creating the same exact looks for all their clients. My designs will clearly evoke the Tate Fairbanks style, while also being completely unique and reflect each of my client’s needs and desires. I want to add character back into spaces, instead of removing it.
Describe a project that encapsulates your design aesthetic.
I enjoy utilizing a variety of natural materials, cozy moody colors with pops of bright colors, modern vintage furniture, and uniquely bold light fixtures.
