The Liberty house
The intention of the design is to create a sensory experience for the retiring couple to have a safe haven in aging in place. Each of the senses will be tickled in the Liberty House. Just off the coast of the beautiful San Diego, California, the couple, and their guests will be able to relax and unwind as they smell the salty air and Mrs. Edwards flower garden upon entering the property. Contemporary design elements will be found throughout the home from the furniture to the large pane windows to take in the breathtaking view. The simple and tranquil interiors will give them peace and quiet to live out their days in their beautiful home. An elegantly modern kitchen will provide the Edwards with a place to prepare delicious intimate meals together. Rough and smooth finishes found in the black marble counters, wood cabinets, and other natural materials will satiate their need and love for nature. Soft lighting and brushed brass materials will provide a warm embrace for all those who enter the Liberty House.
What is something people might not know about you?
When I was in High School, I became certified to teach Zumba classes. I love dancing, especially Latin American dancing, and would have loved to be a professional dancer.
How does lighting play a role in your work?
As an artist, I understand the importance of highlighting your work. Each detail and texture of a work of art could be missed without the proper use of lighting. This is no different in Design. Lighting accentuates each texture and material used in a design and without it, you would miss the small, intricate details that make up the interior story.
